Bosch has taken a major step in the evolution of the connected electric bike: its eBike Flow app is officially opening to third-party services and data exploitation. A low-profile announcement made on 24 March 2026, but one with far-reaching practical implications — for cyclists, manufacturers, and dealers like KAMEO Bikes.
Until now, eBike Flow was primarily a bike management tool: navigation, firmware updates, riding mode customisation. With this opening, the app becomes a genuine centralised platform, capable of aggregating external services and sharing your bike's data with authorised partners.
At KAMEO Bikes, we immediately recognised the potential of this development to concretely improve the service we offer our customers. Here is what changes — and what we are going to do with it.
At a glance
- The Bosch eBike Flow app opens to third-party services and applications from March 2026.
- Bike data (mileage, motor status, battery) is now accessible to authorised partners.
- KAMEO Bikes will use this data to send you personalised preventive maintenance alerts.
- Our bike health record will be enriched and updated automatically.
- Certified mileage makes it easier and more profitable to resell your e-bike second-hand.
eBike Flow becomes an open platform
Until recently, the Bosch eBike Flow app operated as a closed tool: navigation, mode customisation, updates. Going forward, partner brands and services can integrate their own applications directly into the platform.
The first concrete example is the integration of Komoot: users can now connect their account and plan their rides without leaving the Bosch ecosystem. Other services will follow.
But the most structural evolution lies elsewhere: Bosch now allows external parties to exploit data from the app and the ConnectModule — that GPS and sensor module that turns the bike into a fully connected object. This is the opening that directly interests us at KAMEO Bikes.
What the ConnectModule collects: real-time mileage, battery status, motor data, GPS location, usage history. Exactly the information needed to accurately assess the health of an electric bike.
What KAMEO Bikes will do for you
At KAMEO Bikes, we already create a health record for every bike that comes through our workshop. Until now, however, this record was built manually, based on information provided by the customer and a physical inspection by our mechanics.
The Bosch API opening changes everything. By connecting myKameo — our internal management system — to the eBike Flow data from your Bosch bikes, we will be able to offer three concrete new services.
🔔 1. Automatic preventive maintenance alerts
Rather than waiting for a problem to arise, we will be able to contact you at the right moment — that is, when your bike approaches a mileage threshold or usage duration that warrants a service. Chain, brakes, fork, battery: every component has a predictable lifespan based on kilometres ridden.
No more forgotten or overdue services. You will receive a clear notification, at the right time, with a recommendation tailored to the actual use of your bike — not an arbitrary time interval.
📋 2. An accurate, continuously updated bike health record
We already produce a health record at every workshop visit. With Bosch data, this record becomes live: mileage updates automatically, battery status is tracked over time, and intervention history is centralised.
The result: a complete, reliable picture of your bike's condition, available at any time, evolving with your actual use — no longer only updated during your visits to the shop.
🔄 3. Certified mileage for easier resale
One of the barriers to buying a second-hand e-bike is the lack of transparency about actual usage. How many kilometres has it really covered? Under what conditions? How many charge cycles has the battery gone through?
With Bosch data, we will be able to certify the mileage and battery condition objectively, directly from the source. A genuine asset when selling your bike — and a reassurance for the buyer purchasing with confidence.
Why this development matters for you
An electric bike represents a significant investment — between €2,500 and over €7,000 depending on the model. Yet most owners have no visibility into the actual condition of their bike between workshop visits.
The most costly breakdowns are often the ones that could have been avoided: a worn chain damaging a sprocket, a poorly maintained battery losing capacity prematurely, hydraulic brakes losing their bite for lack of a timely bleed.
Preventive maintenance is always cheaper — and less disruptive — than curative repair. Our goal is simple: to help you keep your bike in perfect condition for as long as possible, by intervening at the right time rather than in an emergency.
| Before | With Bosch Flow data |
|---|---|
| Mileage provided by the customer (approximate) | Certified mileage directly from the Bosch source |
| Service triggered on request or out of habit | Automatic alert at the right usage threshold |
| Health record produced at each workshop visit | Health record updated continuously |
| Battery condition difficult to assess at resale | Certified battery condition, traceable history |
| Resale based on owner's estimate | Resale backed by objective data |
Which bikes are concerned?
These services apply to electric bikes equipped with a Bosch system including the ConnectModule. This GPS and connectivity module is available across a wide range of Bosch bikes, particularly those fitted with:
- Bosch Smart System (Performance Line, Performance Line CX, Cargo Line, Active Line Plus) — natively compatible with eBike Flow and the ConnectModule.
- Bikes from brands including Moustache, Giant, Cube, Riese & Müller and other Bosch partners available in our catalogue are covered.
If you are unsure about your bike's compatibility, our in-store team can check this with you in just a few minutes.
Older Bosch systems (Active Line, Performance Line generations 1 to 3, Classic+ system) are not compatible with the Smart System and will not benefit from this integration. For these bikes, our manual workshop monitoring remains the best way to ensure optimal maintenance.
What comes next at KAMEO Bikes
We are currently working on integrating the Bosch Connected Biking Platform API into myKameo, our internal management system. The goal is to roll out these services progressively to all customers with a Bosch Smart System bike.
We will initially offer this monitoring to customers with a maintenance contract, before extending it more broadly. If you would like to be among the first notified when we launch, please let us know in store or by email.
This is a development we have long been waiting for. It aligns perfectly with what we want to offer our customers: long-term support, not just at the point of purchase.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data shared without my consent? +
No. Access to data via the Bosch API requires your explicit consent. You retain full control over the sharing of your data and can revoke this access at any time from within the eBike Flow app.
Do I need to buy additional equipment? +
If your bike is equipped with the Bosch Smart System, the ConnectModule is the accessory that enables GPS connectivity and data transmission. Some bikes come with it as standard, for others it is an optional add-on. Our team can advise you based on your model.
Will this service be paid? +
The basic monitoring — health record and maintenance alerts — will be included in our existing maintenance contracts. Additional services may be offered at a later stage. We will communicate the exact terms at launch.
My bike is not a Bosch brand — am I affected? +
This integration is specific to the Bosch Smart System ecosystem. For bikes fitted with other drivetrains (Shimano, Brose, Fazua, etc.), we continue to carry out manual diagnostics in the workshop. Further integrations may follow depending on developments from other system manufacturers.
When will this service be available? +
We are actively working on the integration. A progressive rollout is planned over the coming months, starting with customers on a maintenance contract. Let us know you are interested in store to be among the first to benefit.
