Lundi, Mardi, Mercredi, Samedi, Dimanche. At Moustache, bikes are not named after mountains or endless product codes: they are named after days of the week. It is not a copywriter's flourish — it is the founding idea, spelled out: a bike for every day, and a day for every way of leaving the car in the garage.
Behind that familiar vocabulary sits a company born in a Vosges flat in 2010, started by two friends, and which in some fifteen years became one of the few European brands to assemble its electric bikes at home. Here is the story, and what it left in the bikes we sell today.
The figures quoted come from Moustache Bikes' own publications. Prices are the lowest found in our catalogue on 30 August 2026, VAT included, across all model years.

Two men from the Vosges, a flat, and one conviction
In 2010, the electric bike is still a curiosity in Europe. Emmanuel Antonot and Greg Sand, two cycling-obsessed natives of the Vosges, see precisely the opposite: the one tool that will put people back on a bike.

Their profiles complement each other — one is obsessed with developing new bikes, the other comes from international sales. From a small flat deep in the Vosges, they build their first prototypes, walk into bike shops and win over their first partners. The company is formally founded in 2011, in the Vosges, and has never left.
« Our meeting was the real starting point of this story. We are two cycling-mad guys from the Vosges, mad enough to take on an adventure like this one. After that start as a pair, we now have nearly 200 employees, and that is our greatest pride. »
Emmanuel Antonot and Greg Sand, founders of Moustache Bikes
The original bet was a radical one, and it has never moved: every Moustache bike is electric. The one exception is the children's balance bike, which the brand nonetheless considers one of its most important models — it is the bike of first rides, the one that creates the appetite.

Why « Moustache »?
The name comes from the bike itself. The « moustache handlebar », a swept bar that appeared in the early 20th century, belongs to cycling's historical vocabulary. The brand's handlebars are a contemporary reinterpretation of it: a part you recognise at a glance, still found today on the urban models.
The brand's argument fits in one line: every moustache is unique, every moustache is recognisable. So are its bikes.
The Moustache calendar: reading a name in three seconds
A Moustache name always reads the same way: a day, a number, then a finish level. Once the logic clicks, the name alone tells you what the bike is for, what wheels it rolls on and where it sits in the range.

LUNDIthe day, therefore the use — here the daily urban commute

One day, one kind of riding
LUNDI — the start of the week: commuting, shopping, crossing town.
MARDI — the comfortable city bike, built to absorb cobbles day after day.
MERCREDI — children's day — the balance bike, the only non-electric bike in the range.
FRIDAY — fast commuting: further, quicker, and still on time.
SAMEDI — the free day: rides, tracks, forest, on every surface.
DIMANCHE — the riders' day: road, gravel, climbs and outings with friends.
And the numbers?
12, 20, 26, 27, 28 or 29: these are wheel sizes, in inches. A Lundi 27 rolls on 27-inch wheels, a Samedi 28 on 28-inch. The most recent models (Xroad, Trail, Game, Clutch, J.All) drop the weekday naming and take the name of their discipline instead.
The range today, family by family
The launch range had 7 models. Today it has close to 70, from the learning bike under €250 to the chainless electric mountain bike above €8,000. Here is what we carry, and what each family is for.

The balance bike, and the only Moustache without assistance. Feet on the ground, the child manages their own speed and balance, then moves to a pedal bike without a painful transition.

The first bike Moustache ever drew, and still the brand's icon. Low frame, moustache bar, upright position: the city bike par excellence, as right in its 2012 version as in today's.

The compact cargo format, on small 20-inch wheels. Two children, the shopping, gear: this is the model that genuinely replaces a car, without taking up the space of a longtail.

The comfort city bike, with an internal gear hub: no derailleur to adjust, no chain to watch. Built for cobbles and daily journeys, in rigid or full-suspension versions.

The widest family in the range: trekking, all-road, mountain bike, and even a tandem. This is the weekend bike, equally at ease on a greenway and a forest track.

The modern all-road: dynamic frame, suspension fork, wide but fast-rolling tyres. It does the weekday morning ride and the Saturday forest loop, with no painful compromise.

The assisted road bike: light, sharp, built to cover tarmac and climb. For riding fast without giving up long days out.

The house gravel bike, with flat bar or drop bar. Tarmac, tracks, loaded bikepacking or a light spin: the most versatile model in the sporting range.

The new generation, dropping weekday names to name the discipline directly. A versatile adventure bike, built around a completely rethought frame and integration.

The brand's historic electric mountain bike, repeatedly awarded. 150 mm of travel, sound handling, and the balance that made its reputation in the mountains.

The committed mountain bike platform, developed with the Moustache SR Suntour team. 150 or 160 mm of travel depending on version, Bosch Performance CX motor: the bike to play like the pros.

The mountain bike without a conventional drivetrain: no derailleur, no chain to maintain. The brand's boldest engineering bet to date, and the top of the range.

Assembling in the Vosges, against the current
This is what sets Moustache apart from most electric bike brands sold in Europe: assembly is being brought back, year after year, into its own Vosges workshops.

The company took back control of the whole process, from sourcing and frame pre-assembly through to complete bike build. The organisational choice is unusual: each operator assembles an entire bike, rather than repeating one motion on a line. A new line with an automated overhead conveyor cut build time from 25 minutes to 6.
+11%
more frames assembled in-house in 2020
+46%
in 2024, and the trend continues
25 → 6 min

The point is not just a label: assembling close to home shortens the supply chain, cuts transport, and above all makes it possible to adjust bikes during the year rather than once a season.

Bosch, from the very start
Moustache chose Bosch for its drive systems very early on, and never moved away. Today the range is built on the Bosch Smart System: motor, battery, display and bar remote form one connected set, driven from the eBike Flow app.
In practice, for you: performance updates that land after purchase, an electronic lock (eBike Lock) that disables the motor using your phone, and a motor we can diagnose and repair in our workshop. It is also what makes these bikes eligible for our 5-year warranty on Bosch and Shimano drive systems.
Four questions we get in store
Is a Moustache bike really made in France?
The frame and much of the componentry come from Asia, as with almost the entire cycle industry. What is French is the design, and the — increasingly complete — assembly in the Vosges workshops. That is a real difference, but it has to be stated correctly: Moustache is a French brand assembling in France, not a bike manufactured entirely in France.
Why are there almost no non-electric bikes at Moustache?
That is the founding choice: the company was born of the conviction that the electric bike is what puts the most people back in the saddle, on journeys previously made by car. The one exception is the Mercredi 12 balance bike — which has no need of a motor either.
How do these bikes hold their value?
It is one of the brand's most tangible arguments: used Moustaches resell well, because the range evolves through successive refinements rather than clean breaks, and because parts stay available for a long time. A 2018 Lundi frame can still be repaired today.
Can I try one before buying?
Yes, and at this price it is strongly advised. Moustache is stocked in our Brussels shop, rue de la Mutualité in Uccle — that is where test rides take place. Tell us the model and your size: we will have the bike ready for you.
