Merida SILEX 400

The Merida Silex 400 Oak Bork 2026 is a gravel bike built for adventure, as comfortable on a rough commute as on a multi-day bikepacking trip. Weighing 10.7 kg, it is the bike that carried Matej Mohorič to the 2023 Gravel World Championship title, in an accessible aluminium build.

Its Lite II 6066 aluminium frame, triple-butted, hydroformed and smooth-welded, is paired with a full carbon Silex II CF2 fork. Merida's MTB-inspired geometry, with a slack head angle, long top tube and short stem, gives real off-road confidence without ever feeling twitchy. Clearance runs to 700x45c (42c with mudguards), and the fork will take up to 47c.

The Shimano GRX 400 2x10 gravel groupset combines a 46-30 sub-compact chainset with an 11-36 cassette: a wide range for steep climbs and fast road sections alike. Hydraulic disc brakes with oversized 180 mm rotors deliver control in all conditions. The bike is genuinely equipped for the long haul: five sets of bottle bosses, rack and mudguard mounts, internal dropper post compatibility and even the option of a dynamo system. Maxxis Rambler 45c tubeless-ready tyres complete the build.
