Riese and Muller Charger5 Vario

The Riese & Müller Charger5 Vario is a premium electric trekking bike designed for riders who move between city streets and unpaved paths without wanting to compromise. The TIG-welded aluminium frame in a comfortable upright geometry is available in four sizes (S to XL), making it accessible to a wide range of riders.

Power comes from the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5 motor producing 100 Nm of torque — enough to handle steep climbs and loaded racks with ease. The Bosch PowerTube 800 Wh battery sits horizontally inside the frame, keeping the silhouette clean and the centre of gravity low. Ride data is displayed on the Bosch Kiox 500 screen, which pairs with the Bosch eBike Flow app for navigation and settings.

The Enviolo Heavy Duty continuously variable hub paired with a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt replaces the traditional chain drivetrain entirely. The result: no lubrication, no chain stretch, no dropped gears — just silent, stepless pedalling. The SR Suntour Mobie 34 air fork (100 mm travel) smooths out rough surfaces, and the By.Schulz G.2 ST suspension seatpost adds a further layer of comfort on potholed roads.

The Charger5 Vario arrives fully kitted out: a Riese & Müller MIK HD rack compatible with child seats and panniers, Curana Orbit 70 mudguards, Supernova mini 3 Pro front light, Axa Juno Signal rear light, Ursus R97 kickstand, and an ABUS Granit Xplus lock with 130 cm chain. An integrated RX chip enables GPS tracking and alarm activation through the RX Connect app.
