The ABUS HYP-E is built for e-bike riders and commuters who don't want to compromise on safety. With it, you are not only seen — you are understood. The lighting concept brings together front light, rear light, brake light and indicator lights, all integrated into the shell. The lights offer six modes — Steady, Power, Flow, Pulse, Flash and Eco — to pick depending on light conditions, weather, or to save battery. A wireless handlebar remote controls the indicators: the front and rear lights flash on the side you're turning towards. A second remote slips over the brake lever: as soon as you brake, the rear light comes on and signals that you're slowing. Both remotes and the lights recharge over USB-C. Charging takes around 4 hours, for a runtime of at least 2 hours in continuous mode and at least 40 hours in flashing mode. The whole thing is rated IP44, and the wireless link uses a 2.4 GHz protocol based on OXI Wireless technology.

On protection, the HYP-E meets the strict requirements of the NTA 8776 standard: compliant helmets are tested at higher impact speeds, offer better protection at the back of the head and the temples, and absorb higher impact forces — which makes it particularly suited to e-bikes and faster riding. Construction combines the in-mould process with a hard shell, plus lower edge protection.

Day to day: the Vent Cover lets you open or close the vents as the weather changes, 365 days a year; the Bug Mesh keeps insects off without hampering ventilation; the ear pads, integrated into the strap system, shield your ears from wind and cold and carry reflective detailing. The height-adjustable magnetic visor attaches, folds up or comes off in seconds thanks to the patented magnetic Hub — the "clear" version is included, with photochromic and smoke visors available as accessories.
