Abus HYP-E signal yellow

The ABUS HYP-E is the helmet for daily e-bike commuting, and it has one argument no other urban helmet in the range can make: it indicates.

Integrated front and rear lights, USB-C rechargeable, with six modes (Steady, Power, Flow, Pulse, Flash, Eco) to pick from depending on light, weather or how much battery you want to save. And above all: both lights work as indicators. A wireless handlebar remote is included — you signal a turn without letting go of the bars, at head height, so above car roofs. Brake-light function available with the optional remote.

At least 2 h steady and 40 h flashing, full charge in about 4 h. Lighting rated IP44: splash-water resistant, the bare minimum for a helmet worn in the rain.

580 g in size M. Mixed in-mould + hard shell construction: part of the outer shell is robust hard shell, part polycarbonate with foamed-in padding. Lower edge protected.

Vent Cover closes the vents against sun, wind and rain. Ponytail Fit (works with ponytails, buns, braids), Bug Mesh, Zoom™ Spin dial, Flap Divider™ with clamp, magnetic FIDLOCK buckle that opens one-handed. Pads machine-washable at 30 °C.

The visor (clear, smoke or photochromic) and the ear pads clip onto the MagneticHub — sold separately, or already included on the ACE version.
