Description
The ABUS Macator MIPS pearl white takes ABUS's versatile entry-level road helmet and adds the protection that matters: a Mips layer. 320 g in size M, for a head circumference of 52 to 58 cm.
Mips is a thin plastic shell sitting between the inner padding and the energy-absorbing shell. Its job: to counteract the rotational forces acting on the head in an angled fall — the most common kind of impact on a bike. It costs 20 g over the non-Mips Macator, and nothing else changes.
Everything else is pure Macator: an in-mould shell (EPS foamed directly into the polycarbonate), comfortable padding and generous ventilation. Two features set it apart from pure race helmets: a removable clip-on peak for sun protection, and the Bug Mesh, which keeps flies and other bugs off your head without blocking the ventilation.
Fit is adjusted with the Zoom™ Spin dial on a full head ring, with a Ponytail Fit opening for a ponytail, bun or braids. Below the ears, the Flap Divider™ splits the straps and locks with a clamp. Finishing touches: Velcro-mounted Comfort Pads, removable and washable, and a three-pronged push-in buckle. No integrated light. For adults and teenagers.
