Description
The ABUS MoDrop MIPS iced mint is the all-rounder in the ABUS MTB range, in its Mips-equipped version: a do-it-all trail helmet for riders who feel at home on demanding trails. 370 g in size M, for a head circumference of 54 to 58 cm.
Mips is a thin plastic shell between the inner padding and the energy-absorbing shell: it counteracts the rotational forces acting on the head in an angled fall. The cost: 35 g over the non-Mips MoDrop.
Everything else is unchanged. The height-adjustable peak, with locking positions, fends off hanging branches on descents — and in a fall it can prevent direct impact with the face. The two-part outer shell also protects the lower edge (scratches, impacts, wear); inside, the EPS foam is expanded directly into the polycarbonate shell (in-mould).
Fit comes from the dedicated MTB adjustment system and the Zoom™ Spin dial, with a Ponytail Fit opening. Flat fixed-position Trivider™ divider, removable washable Velcro-mounted Comfort Pads, a three-pronged push-in buckle, a half ring and a reflector sticker. Worth knowing: this is not a full-face helmet, it has no light, and crash detection is offered as an option. For adults.
