Description
The ABUS PURL-Y ACE metallic copper is the PURL-Y with its LED rear light fitted as standard. An urban helmet with NTA certification — the standard written for fast bikes, which makes it particularly suited to e-bikes and S-pedelecs up to 45 km/h. 340 g in size M, for a head circumference of 54 to 58 cm.
The rear light attaches and detaches magnetically and charges over a Micro-USB cable. Four modes — steady, power, pulse and flash — for at least 2.5 hours in continuous mode and 15 hours in flashing mode, with a full charge in about 2 hours. Lithium-polymer battery, IP44 protection rating (splash water and solid bodies larger than 1 mm).
Everything else is the PURL-Y: polycarbonate shell and EPS foam bonded in the in-mould process, low rear over the neck, Zoom™ Spin dial on a full head ring, Ponytail Fit opening, removable clip-on peak, Flap Divider™ with clamp, three-pronged push-in buckle and removable, washable Comfort Pads. Plus the reflector sticker and the insect-stopping Bug Mesh.
Against the PURL-Y without a light, the ACE adds just 20 g (320 → 340 g). No Mips on this model.
