The ABUS StormChaser midnight blue matt is a road and gravel helmet built for pace: road, cyclocross, criterium. ABUS sums it up in two words — never compromise — and the spec sheet follows: 220 g in size M, for a head circumference of 54 to 58 cm.

The shell is made using the in-mould process: the EPS foam is expanded directly into the polycarbonate outer shell, creating a durable bond between the two materials. Inside, the Acti Cage™ structural reinforcement is foamed into the EPS — it is what allows larger ventilation openings without giving up shell stability.

Fit is adjusted with the Zoom™ Spin dial at the back of the head, adjustable for height. Its Ponytail Fit opening leaves room for a ponytail, a bun or braids. The straps are stitched and need no dividers: they sit close to the face and do not flap in the wind. At the front, the Front Eyewear Port is a dedicated recess that holds your sunglasses in a secure, aerodynamic position.

Day to day: Floating Pad padding clipped in at several points, more flexible and better ventilated, removable and washable; a three-pronged push-in buckle; a half ring; and a reflector sticker for visibility after dark.
