Description
The ABUS YouDrop FF velvet black is a full-face helmet for children and teenagers: it protects the face — jaw and chin — on rough tracks as well as easy rides. 430 g, for a head circumference of 48 to 55 cm in size S.
Its strength: the chin guard is removable. Take it off and the helmet becomes an airy open-face for an ordinary ride; put it back for descents or the pump track. One helmet covers both uses instead of buying two.
The peak is Velcro-mounted and also removable — and crucially, it is designed to detach by itself in a fall, to limit strain on the neck. The straps are stitched with no divider: they sit close to the face and do not flap. Fit is set with the Zoom™ Spin dial at the back of the head, on a half ring, with a Ponytail Fit opening for a ponytail, bun or braids.
In-mould shell, three-pronged push-in buckle, Velcro Comfort Pads, removable and hand-washable, and a reflector sticker. Worth knowing: no Mips, no light and no lower edge protection.
