The Surly Nice Rack Rear is a rear rack built for cyclists who actually load their bikes. Constructed from 4130 CroMoly steel tubing with a durable powder coat black finish, it's designed to handle the demands of expedition touring, everyday commuting, and bikepacking without bending to the pressure.
With a 36 kg (80 lbs) maximum load capacity and a generous 310 × 160 mm platform, it gives you the room and strength to carry panniers, camping gear, or whatever your day demands. Height is adjustable so you can lower the center of gravity when riding heavy — a small detail that makes a real difference in handling.
It fits rigid frames with eyelets and is compatible with rim brakes (caliper, drum, or cantilever) across 26", 700c, and 29" wheel sizes. It is not compatible with disc brakes on seatstay-mounted calipers or rear suspension frames — with the exception of certain Surly models: the Troll, Ogre, and Disc Trucker.
All hardware — stainless steel bolts, washers, and fittings — comes packed in a reusable Surly Tool Bag, so nothing gets lost before you even start building.
