Newmen Advanced A.50 622 21h FADE R SJ CL 12x142 SH

The Newmen Advanced A.50 is a 700c rear wheel built around a unidirectional (UD) carbon rim with a 50 mm depth. That profile strikes a practical balance: noticeable aerodynamic benefit at road pace, without the handling sensitivity of a deeper section in crosswinds. The 23 mm internal and 32.5 mm external width are optimised for modern road tyres between 28 and 30 mm — the sweet spot for combining speed with ride comfort.

The rim is Hooked Tubeless Ready and ships with the rim tape already installed. Running tubeless means no inner tube, fewer punctures, and the ability to drop tyre pressure slightly for better grip on varied road surfaces — a meaningful real-world advantage on longer rides.

Newmen has spec'd 21 Sapim Race 2.0/1.8/2.0 spokes in a hybrid Straightpull/J-Bend lacing pattern: radial on the left, 3-cross on the right. This layout balances lateral stiffness with the ability to handle torque under hard accelerations. Sapim Double Square 16 mm aluminium nipples provide secure, precise tensioning over time.

The FADE R SJ hub runs on a 12x142 mm thru-axle and accepts Centerlock rotors up to 160 mm. The freehub body is Shimano HG compatible across 9, 10, 11 and 12-speed groupsets, with a 3-pawl, 36-tooth engagement mechanism for quick pickup out of corners. Maximum system weight is 130 kg, making it a solid choice for e-road bikes as well.
