ORTLIEB Bike-Packer QL2.1 40 L

The Ortlieb Bike-Packer Classic QL2.1 is a pair of rear pannier bags with a combined volume of 40 litres (2 × 20 L). Whether you're bikepacking across borders or doing a heavy weekly shop, they give you the room you need without getting in the way. The shell is made from PVC-coated polyester, and the lid closure features a drawcord dust-and-snow flap, together earning an IP54 protection rating. That means resistance to water spray from any direction and to dust ingress — your gear stays dry even in sustained rain. Mounting is handled by the Quick-Lock 2.1 system, which clips onto rack tubes up to 16 mm in diameter. The included reducer inserts (8, 10 and 12 mm) let you fit the hooks to thinner tubes without any tools. Each bag is symmetrically shaped, so it works equally well on the left or right side of the rack. Inside, a main compartment and a zipped mesh pocket help keep things organised. Stabiliser feet on the base keep the bag upright when set on the ground, and the shoulder strap with carabiner makes it straightforward to carry off the bike.
