The Shimano CN-E6070-9 HG is built for electric bikes running the Shimano STEPS E6000 series drivetrain in a single-chainring setup. The link plates are reinforced and optimised for the increased torque that an electric motor applies to the drivetrain — something a standard road or mountain bike chain is not designed to handle.
The SIL-TEC coating reduces friction between the chain and sprockets, slowing down wear and providing corrosion resistance. In practice, this means a quieter drivetrain, cleaner shifting, and less frequent maintenance — a real advantage if you ride daily or in mixed weather conditions.
HyperGlide (HG) technology ensures smooth and consistent gear changes across all 9 sprockets, even under load. The chain comes with 138 links and an Ampoule-type connecting pin included, making installation straightforward.
