Description
The Shimano CN-E6090-10 is a chain engineered specifically for electric bikes running the Shimano STEPS system (E6000, E7000 and E8000 series). Unlike standard bicycle chains, it is built to withstand the higher torque loads that come with electric motor assistance — making it the correct replacement part for these drivetrains.
The SIL-TEC surface treatment on both inner and outer plates uses embedded fluorine particles to reduce friction with every pedal stroke. This translates to quieter, smoother shifting and a longer service life compared to untreated chains. The pins receive an additional chromizing treatment for improved wear resistance.
The chain features a directional, asymmetric design — correct installation orientation must be observed. It is intended for single-chainring setups (1×10) and comes with 138 links and one connecting pin included in the box.
Weighing 276 g, it offers a solid, dependable build in a clean silver finish that suits most STEPS 10-speed drivetrains.
