Description
The Giant Contend SL 1 is designed for riders who want to cover serious distance in comfort. The ALUXX SL-Grade aluminium frame (6011 alloy) keeps things light and responsive, while the full carbon Advanced-Grade Composite fork with 12×100 mm thru-axle damps road vibration and provides a stable, precise feel through corners and descents.
Shifting is handled by a Shimano Tiagra R4000 11-speed groupset, paired with a compact 50/34T chainset and an 11-36T cassette — a range that makes both steep climbs and fast flat stretches accessible to a wide range of riders. The Shimano Tiagra hydraulic disc brakes maintain strong, predictable braking performance regardless of weather conditions.
Comfort details matter on endurance bikes, and Giant has thought them through here. The D-Fuse seatpost micro-flexes to absorb road chatter, the ergonomic handlebar with 7.2° flare and fully internal cable routing improves control and reduces hand fatigue. Giant ALP Disc 30 mm wheels come fitted with 700×28C tubeless-ready tyres (clearance up to 33 mm), giving you the option to run lower pressures for extra grip and comfort on varied road surfaces.
