Description
The Giant Defy Advanced 2 is an endurance road bike designed for riders who want to cover serious distance in comfort without giving up efficiency. The Advanced-Grade Composite carbon frame, built using Modified Monocoque construction, strikes a practical balance: light enough to feel responsive, stiff enough to transfer your pedalling effort, and tuned to absorb the kind of vibrations that wear you down over hours in the saddle.
Shifting is handled by a full Shimano 105 groupset — a benchmark for durability and consistent performance at this price point. The 11-36 cassette gives you a wide spread of gears for everything from flat riding to steeper gradients. Stopping is taken care of by Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes with Shimano SM-RT64 160 mm rotors at both ends, delivering smooth and predictable braking regardless of weather.
Two details stand out for long-distance comfort: the Giant Contact SL D-Fuse handlebar and the D-Fuse composite seatpost, both engineered with a degree of vertical flex to filter out road noise without making the bike feel vague. The Giant Gavia Fondo 1 tubeless tyres (700x32c) add another layer — a wider contact patch, lower rolling resistance when run tubeless, and tyre clearance up to 40 mm if you want to go wider.
The Advanced-Grade Composite fork features a full-composite OverDrive steerer and a 12x100 mm thru-axle for precise, stable steering. Available in Tidal Green, in sizes S through XL.
