Description

The Giant Trance 29 2 is a full-suspension trail MTB built for riders who want to climb efficiently and descend with confidence. The ALUXX SL aluminium frame houses Giant's proven Maestro suspension system, delivering 120 mm of rear travel through a four-pivot linkage that stays active over rough terrain without bobbing under pedalling effort.

A key feature of this model is the flip chip on the Maestro rocker arm. By flipping this small component, you change the head tube angle, seat tube angle and bottom bracket drop (35 mm or 45 mm) — effectively giving you two distinct geometry settings. Pair that with the Marzocchi Z2 fork (130 mm, GRIP damper, Boost 15×110) and the Fox Float DPS Performance rear shock, both specifically tuned by Giant, and you have a chassis that can be dialled in for your local trails.

The Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain — with a wide-range 10-51t cassette, KMC X-12 chain and Praxis Cadet M24 crankset — handles everything from flat fire roads to steep singletrack. Up front, a Maxxis Minion DHF 29×2.5 WT (3C MaxxTerra, EXO, TR) provides cornering grip, while the Maxxis Aggressor 29×2.5 (EXO, TR) at the rear balances traction and rolling speed. Both tyres are tubeless-ready out of the box.

The Giant Contact Switch dropper post — with travel ranging from 125 mm (S) to 170 mm (L/XL) — is included as standard, allowing you to lower your saddle instantly on technical descents. Available in S, M, L and XL, the Trance 29 2 fits a broad range of riders.
