The Moustache Mercredi 12 is a balance bike — a pedal-free, motor-free bicycle — designed to help children from around 20 months old develop their sense of balance naturally. By pushing along with their feet and eventually lifting them off the ground, young riders build the coordination they need to transition to a pedal bike with ease.
The variable-thickness hydroformed aerospace aluminium frame features an integrated ergonomic footrest: a platform where children can rest their feet once they pick up speed, mimicking the sensation of gliding and laying the groundwork for future cycling. The single-sided aluminium fork keeps the 12-inch wheels easy to maintain while ensuring excellent rigidity.
The child-specific saddle, mounted on a 25.4 mm seatpost, is height-adjustable to follow your child's growth over several years. A handlebar return ring caps the maximum steering angle, preventing the kind of sharp turns that can cause sudden tumbles — a reassuring safety feature for first-time riders.
