Merida BIG NINE TR LIMITED

The Merida Big Nine TR Limited 2026 blurs the line between cross-country and trail. Around 13 kg, this 29" hardtail is as capable on descents as it is quick on the climbs.

The Big Nine TR Lite III aluminium frame, hydroformed and double-butted, combines progressive geometry with Merida's Agilometer sizing, which adjusts handling to each frame size. Its Flex Stay design lets the shaped seatstays absorb vibration like a leaf spring, adding comfort to the rear end without sacrificing power transfer. There is clearance for 2.4" tyres.

Up front, the Manitou Machete Comp Air fork delivers 120 mm of travel, a step up in descending confidence over a pure cross-country setup. The Shimano 12-speed drivetrain, with an XT rear derailleur, and the SLX M7100 / M7110 hydraulic disc brakes provide precision and control. The Merida dropper post, with remote lever and travel matched to frame size, lets riders drop the saddle for technical sections, while Maxxis Rekon 29x2.4" tyres add grip and cushioning.

Ideal for riders who want the efficiency of an XC hardtail but refuse to give ground on descents, whether on long singletrack outings or fast trail rides.
