Tern GSD R14

The Tern GSD R14 is the flagship of the GSD line, engineered as a genuine everyday car replacement. Its 6061 aluminium frame with patented MultiTruss technology, certified to DIN 79010, handles a total system weight of 210 kg — enough for children on the rear Atlas G rack (100 kg rated) plus a full load of groceries, with a stiff, stable feel.

The Bosch Cargo Line motor (85 Nm, 400% assist) is tuned specifically for heavy loads and hill starts with passengers on board. The Bosch PowerPack 800 Wh battery delivers up to 144 km of range and clicks out quickly with the Fast Swap system; a second battery (400, 545 or 800 Wh) can be added as an option.

The drivetrain is built around a Rohloff E14 14-speed electronic hub paired with a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt: no chain to lube, no derailleur to adjust, and automatic downshifting when you come to a stop. Braking is handled by Magura MT-C 4-piston calipers with Bosch ABS Gen 2, which prevents wheel lock-up even during emergency stops under full load.

Comfort features include a custom Suntour fork (34 mm stanchions), a Cane Creek suspension seatpost via Tern's VLT system, a 700-lumen Ignis headlight with high/low beam, an integrated brake light, and a 12 W USB-C port for charging on the go. The Bosch Kiox 300 display ties it all together with gear management, navigation and GPS/alarm connectivity through the Bosch Connect Module.
