Description
The Giant FastRoad AR 2 is a flat-bar road bike built for riders who want to go further without being limited to smooth tarmac. The ALUXX-grade aluminium frame (6061 alloy, single-butted tubes) keeps things light and stiff where it matters, while the Advanced-grade composite fork with OverDrive steerer takes the edge off road chatter for a more comfortable ride.
The tyres are a real highlight: Giant Gavia Fondo AR 700c x 40mm, tubeless-ready, provide enough volume and grip to roll confidently over light gravel or wet roads, while still being fast on paved surfaces. The single-chainring Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain — FSA Omega AGX+ 42t crankset paired with an 11-41 cassette — keeps things simple to operate while covering a generous spread of gears for varied terrain.
Braking is handled by Tektro HD-R280 hydraulic disc brakes with Giant MPH 160mm rotors front and rear. Hydraulic disc brakes maintain consistent feel regardless of weather and require minimal hand effort — a practical benefit on longer rides or in city traffic. The Giant D-Fuse alloy seatpost adds a layer of passive vibration damping to keep your back comfortable.
The FastRoad AR 2 also comes with integrated mounts on the frame and fork for racks and mudguards — making it a practical choice for commuters or those planning longer touring trips. Available in Glacier Silver across five sizes (S through XL).
