Description
The Merida SILEX 4000 is a carbon gravel bike designed for riders who want to explore beyond paved roads without giving up efficiency on tarmac. The CF2 carbon frame features an MTB-inspired geometry that inspires confidence on technical terrain while staying responsive at speed. A threaded BSA bottom bracket keeps servicing straightforward, and fully internal cable routing via the integrated Wire Port system keeps the cockpit clean.
Braking is handled by Shimano GRX 400 hydraulic disc brakes, enhanced by Merida's Disc Cooler technology — CNC-machined aluminium fins integrated into the carbon frame that dissipate heat during sustained descents, reducing rotor temperature by up to 35%. Shimano RT54 180mm rotors front and rear provide consistent, controllable stopping power in all conditions.
The Reynolds Duroc G30 700c tubeless-ready wheelset, paired with Maxxis Rambler 700x45C EXO Kevlar tyres, handles gravel and dirt with confidence while rolling efficiently on road. The Shimano GRX 400 2x10 drivetrain, with a GRX 600 46/30T crankset and an 11-36T cassette, gives you a broad range of gears to tackle climbs and flat stretches alike without compromise.
The Silex II CF2 carbon fork accepts tyres up to 700x47C and features cargo mounts and internal dynamo hub cable routing, making this bike well-suited to loaded bikepacking trips or a fully equipped daily commute. A 27.2mm carbon seatpost adds road compliance, and the Merida Comp SL saddle — made with 22% recycled materials — reflects a commitment to both comfort and sustainability.
