Description
The Merida Mission 4000 is a gravel race bike built around a full carbon CF4 II frame, with thru-axles front (100x12 mm) and rear (142x12 mm) for precise steering and stiffness where it counts. The threaded BSA bottom bracket shell makes servicing straightforward and keeps compatibility broad. The carbon Mission CF4 II fork clears tyres up to 700x45C, giving you room to go wider if your routes demand it.
Shifting and braking are handled by the Shimano GRX 400 groupset — purpose-built for gravel riding. The 2x10 mechanical setup pairs a GRX600 46/30T crankset with a Shimano CS-HG50 11-36T cassette, delivering a range that covers fast road sections and steep climbs alike. Hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm Shimano RT54 rotors front and rear provide consistent, modulated stopping power in wet or muddy conditions.
Wheels are Shimano WH-RX180 700C aluminium Centerlock units with a 25 mm internal width, matched to Maxxis Receptor 700x40C EXO tyres. This combination rolls efficiently on hard surfaces while absorbing enough trail chatter to keep you comfortable over longer distances. Bar width and stem length are spec'd per frame size — a small but welcome detail that means fit is dialled in from the start.
A built-in down tube storage compartment with Fidlock magnetic closure lets you stash a spare tube or energy gels without reaching for a bag. The frame also carries UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) compatibility, making a future electronic drivetrain upgrade a straightforward swap.
