Riese and Muller Nevo5 Pinion

The Nevo5 Pinion is a low step-through bike, built for people who get on and off often — and who would rather not swing a leg over the saddle at every stop. The dropped top tube makes stepping through natural, even in a coat or with loaded panniers.

What makes it distinctive sits under your feet. The Pinion E1.12 Speed MGU combines motor and gearbox into a single unit at the bottom bracket. Twelve gears, but no derailleur or cassette exposed to road spray: everything is enclosed and protected. Drive goes through a Gates CDX belt rather than a chain — no lubrication, no grease on your trouser leg. The Pinion TE1 shifter controls it all from the bars.

The frame-integrated Fit BAT Tubepack 800 Wh battery is rated for 100 to 150 km: enough for a week of commuting, or a long day out without thinking about it. The Comfort Cockpit keeps the display within easy sight.

For comfort and safety, the air-sprung Fox AWL 34 fork offers 100 mm of travel to soak up cobbles and tracks, the Cane Creek Thudbuster ST Evo-2 suspension seatpost filters what comes up through the saddle, and Magura MT4 disc brakes handle the stopping. The Supernova M99 Mini Pro-25 front light and Supernova TL3 Pro rear light, with integrated brake light, make you both visible and readable to those behind.
