The Riese & Müller Transporter2 85 vario is a Long John-style electric cargo bike built to move serious loads as part of daily life — the weekly shop, business deliveries or bulky equipment. The standard Boards loading platform at the front carries the bulk of the load, backed up by a Riese & Müller MIK rear rack rated at 20 kg.

Power comes from the Bosch Performance Line (smart system) motor producing 75 Nm of torque, fed by a Bosch PowerPack Frame 545 Wh battery mounted on the frame. Everything is controlled from the Bosch Purion 200 display, compact and integrated into the handlebar. For longer trips or heavier loads, a 725 Wh battery or a 1,450 Wh DualBattery are available in the configurator.

The drivetrain centres on the Enviolo Heavy Duty continuously variable hub paired with a Gates CDX belt drive (50T chainring, 26T sprocket): no cassette, no derailleur, smooth ratio changes even at a standstill. Braking is handled by Tektro Auriga Comp HD-500 hydraulic discs, while the SR Suntour Mobie A32 fork (50 mm travel) takes the edge off rough surfaces. Reflective Schwalbe Big Ben Plus (20" front) and Schwalbe Super Moto-X (26" rear) tyres deliver grip and comfort on mixed urban terrain.

Standard equipment includes full mudguards, a kickstand, a Billy bell, a Selle Royal Essenza Moderate saddle and an ABUS Shield X+ frame lock. The Transporter2 85 vario is approved for single-wheel and two-wheel trailers. The frame comes in one universal size with a top tube length of 64 to 71 cm; the bike weighs 50 kg and is rated for a gross vehicle weight of 220 kg, with a maximum rider weight of 110 kg.
