Description
The Cube Kathmandu SLX in its trapeze (low-step) frame is a touring and urban all-rounder built for riders who want a single bike that handles daily commutes and longer adventures with equal confidence. The Superlite double-butted aluminium frame makes mounting and dismounting effortless, while the RockShox Paragon Gold Air suspension fork (65 mm, remote lockout) takes the edge off rough urban surfaces and unpaved tracks.
Shifting is handled by a Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain (40T chainring, 10-51T cassette) — a groupset borrowed from high-end mountain biking, offering a wide gear range that makes steep hills manageable and flat stretches efficient. Stopping power comes from Shimano Cues BR-U8000/U8010 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm front and 160 mm rear rotors: progressive, powerful and consistent whether the roads are dry or wet.
Practicality is built in rather than bolted on. Full mudguards, hub-dynamo lighting and a kickstand come as standard, and the IC 3.0 integrated carrier provides a clean, frame-integrated mounting point for panniers or a top bag. Schwalbe Marathon Mondial Pro 47 mm tyres round out the package with their well-established reputation for durability and puncture resistance.
