The Giant Defy Advanced 1 is a road endurance bike built for riders who want to go further without paying for it the next morning. The Advanced-grade composite frame is engineered to balance stiffness where you need power transfer with compliance where you need comfort — a combination that makes a real difference over three or four hours in the saddle.
Shifting is handled by Shimano 105 Di2, Giant's electronic groupset of choice at this level. With 2x12 speeds and an 11-36 cassette, you have the range to tackle climbs and open roads alike, and every gear change happens instantly with a light button press — no cable stretch, no adjustment needed over time.
The bike rolls on Giant Gavia Fondo 1 tubeless tyres in 700x32c, a size that strikes a good balance between speed and comfort. Running tubeless means you can lower tyre pressure for better grip and a smoother feel, while reducing the risk of pinch flats. The frame accepts tyres up to 40 mm wide, giving you flexibility for different road surfaces.
Braking is provided by Shimano 105 Di2 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm front rotors, delivering strong and predictable stopping in wet or dry conditions. The D-Fuse composite seatpost and Contact SL D-Fuse handlebar add a further layer of vibration damping that experienced riders will notice on rough tarmac. The ABUS BORDO™ 6200K/90 SH is a folding lock designed for cyclists who need genuine, insurer-recognised security. The lock bars are made from hardened steel, offering strong resistance to cutting and leverage attacks. Steel discs protect the rivets — typically a vulnerable point on folding locks — against saw attacks. The XPlus cylinder provides enhanced pick and copy resistance, and two keys are included in the box.
A 94 cm locking circumference and a 360°-rotating lock body give you the flexibility to secure your bike to posts, railings, bike racks, and other fixed structures with ease. The included SH frame bracket keeps the lock neatly on your bike and features a discreet compartment for a spare key.
Made in Germany, the BORDO 6200K weighs 1,320 g with a width of 67.5 mm — compact enough to carry daily, yet robust enough to stand up to determined theft attempts.
